Helping families learn, develop and stay together
Our mission is to help families learn, develop and stay together, wherever this in the best interest of the child. We do this by providing training and guidance based on individual need in a safe, supportive, compassionate and positive environment. Our aim is to do this in a warm and homely property where families feel welcome, nurtured and valued. The property can accommodate up to two or three families at any time and we aim to make it a home from home for the families who stay with us by keeping the property as much like a family home as possible. We facilitate effective multi agency working to ensure the holistic needs of our residents are identified and prioritised.
The development of parenting skills builds towards assessments of parenting capacity which are fair, thorough and evidence based, and fit for purpose for courts and/or Local Authorities. We aim to re-educate parents to break cycles of abuse and allow them to demonstrate their parenting capability to the best of their ability throughout their assessment. We devise custom support plans to the individual needs of the children and parents within each family and ensure that all residents are supported to access any services that reflect their individuality, identity and diversity needs. We do this through varied teaching methods and integration in activities both in the house and in the community.

Extensive Family Assessments
Our assessments, which provide intensive care and support to safeguard at-risk children, on average run for a period of 12 weeks although programs can be tailored to be shorter or longer depending on specific needs. Each family staying at our centre has a unique and specific program to care for their child or children. We value the integrity and individuality of our families and understand that one size does not fit all. Tailored support is available with daily tasks such as cleaning, cooking, shopping, attending meetings and other necessary parenting requirements. Our highly experienced social work team is available to support families 24 hours a day.
Community Based Assessments
Community Based Assessments are undertaken in the family home, for a period of about twelve weeks. All Community Based Assessments are designed to ensure the level of disruption to the child is minimised. Community Based Programmes can be conducted with the child/ren at home or if the children are in alternative care. This 9 includes the child’s placement during the assessment and the travel for the child will be minimised wherever possible. The positive and negative aspects of returning the child to the care of the parent/s would be considered. The exact programme of assessment work will be tailored to the individual needs and requirements of each family. Our staff group are qualified and experienced social work practitioners in child Protection work and are wholly dedicated to offering intensive assessments sometimes in complex situations. These assessment programmes require four of five days a week of interventions with mother and father and would involve observations of their care of the child/ren within agreed contact arrangements
